Ján Bogdan - cello [SK]


Slovak violoncellist. As a child, Ján started to attend the preparatory courses led by Milan Červenák at Košice Conservatory. Apart from that, he completed Master’s courses under leading violoncellists such as Daniel Veis, Csaba Onczay and Robert Nagy. In his 12, Ján performed as soloist with Bohdan Warchala’s Chamber Orchestra, Franz Schimdt Kammerorchester, Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina, Musica Iuvenalis orchestra, Wiener Philharmoniker and also held performances at Vienna’s Musikvereine, Wiener Staatsoper and also played for many prominent people including Dutch queen Beatrix. As a member of Wiener Philharmoniker orchestra, Ján Bogdan performed at Teatro alla Scala in Milano and KKL in Luzern. He has been awarded many prizes including: 1st place at international competition „Wettbewerb für Violoncello“ in Austria, Laureate of „Mladý violončelista Slovenska“ (Young Violoncellist of Slovakia), Laureate of the international competition „Talents for Europe“ – in 2016 and 2017 also being a part of professional jury, Laureate of Slovak Conservatory Students Competition, etc. Several times he has participated at Angelika Prokopp Sommerakademie der Wiener Philharmoniker Summer Academy in Salzburg. Ján is a member of Quasars Ensemble since 2015. He currently studies at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna.
